Celebs and filmmakers have often spoken about the kind of professionalism and discipline that yesteryear stars had. Their professional commitment meant the world and they never missed it for anything. We all know how Sridevi shot an entire song in the rain despite having a high fever. Now, her co-star in many films, Ranjeet, has opened up about shooting a film right after his father's death. He revealed how he laughed like a villain, hit Sridevi with a hunter and went back to his room and wailed.

Talking to ETimes, Ranjeet revealed, "I flew down to Hyderabad to shoot for a film the day my father passed away. I was like a rock but when he died, I shook like a leaf. Relatives started coming down from all over the country to pay their last respects as he was the eldest in the family, but I took the flight out. I decided to shoot for my portions so that the sets don’t go to waste, and my father, who had never been accused of any wrongdoing in life, didn’t end up being blamed for the failed shoot on his death bed. So, I went there, laughed aloud like a villain for the camera, went back to my room and sobbed, hit Sridevi with a hunter, returned to the room wailing; I kept washing my face with chilled soda in between shots so that no one would know."

Ranjeet had also spoken about how livid his family had been when they saw him playing a molester on screen. In an episode of The Kapil Sharma Show, he said, “Jab Sharmeelee picture aayi toh mujhe ghar se nikaal diya (I was thrown out of my house when Sharmeelee released).” On being asked why, he said, “Rakhee ke jo baal-vaal kheeche, uske kapde-vapde phaadne ki koshish ki (Because I pulled Rakhee’s hair and tried to tear her clothes).”
