The cast of ’83 is busy shooting the film in London and Deepika Padukone is thrilled to have joined the boys as a part of the sports drama. Her real-life husband Ranveer Singh is playing former cricket captain Kapil Dev in the film and the actress has been roped in to play his wife Romi Bhatia.

Deepika shared a picture with Ranveer Singh and ’83 director Kabir Khan, thanking him for the honour of having her in the project, but it was once again her husband’s comment that stole the show. Ranveer had a witty response to their on-screen reunion and he wrote, “and this time we don’t die in the end! Yay!”

Deepika and Ranveer have worked together in three films so far, Goliyon Ki Rasleela Ramleela, Bajirao Mastani and Padmaavat, all helmed by Sanjay Leela Bhansali. The tragic part has been that they always end up dying in all these films except Padmaavat where Ranveer survives.

For the fans of the couple too, ’83 is an exciting project as we get to see them in a film that is not a period drama. The duo also shared a witty boomerang where Deepika is hitting Ranveer with a bat. The actor captioned the video as ‘Story of my Life Real & Reel !’

Based on India’s historic victory in the Cricket World Cup 1983, Kabir Khan’s ’83 is scheduled for a release on 10 April 2020.
