Ranveer Singh To Step Into Sanjeev Kumar's Shoes For Rohit Shetty's Adaptation Of Angoor; Actor To Be Seen In A Double Role

Rohit Shetty and Ranveer Singh are the perfect match when it comes to delivering a big Bollywood entertainer and Simmba’s success proved it. Now, the duo is ready to reunite and it seems it will be remake of the 1982 hit Sajeev Kumar and Devan Verma film Angoor.

The news was doing the rounds for days that Rohit Shetty approached Ranveer for a mega-scale comedy outside his cop universe and turns out it is the Angoor remake the filmmaker has been keen on since 2015. Prior to Ranveer Shah Rukh Khan was reportedly Rohit’s first pick when had initially thought of the project but when it couldn’t work out they made Dilwale.

Now, Ranveer Singh had onboarded the project and is likely to play Sanjeev Kumar’s role from the original according to a Bollywood Hungama report. A source tells the portal, “Angoor is more of an adaptation in present time, and Rohit is just retaining the basic premise of how two identical twins lead to confusion. It is currently being scripted and the final draft is expected to be locked soon, following which they will move on to the other aspects of pre-production, including signing other actors of the ensemble.”

What’s more is that Ranveer will be seen in a double role and Rohit has plans to make this one the biggest comedy movie in Bollywood.

Well we expect nothing less from the two of them and we are sure they will pull through. We hope that they soon make a big announcement soon.
