Rasbhari Writer Is ‘Shocked’ At Prasoon Joshi's Understanding Of The Scene In The Swara Bhasker Starrer

Swara Bhasker starrer Rasbhari has become the subject of a lot of social media rant ever sicne it dropped online. This Amazon Prime Web series sees Swara playing a beautiful teacher who the entire town gets obsessed with.

After its release CBFC chief Prasoon Joshi took to his official Twitter handle and expressed his displeasure over a scene which he thought was sexualising a girl-child! He wrote, "Saddened by web series Rasbhari's irresponsible content portraying a little girl child dancing provocatively in front of men drinking."

The creator and the writer of the show Tanveer Bookwala told Mid-Day that the scene did not have any sexual connotation at all and that it was made to project the issues women face in a patriarchal society! Mid-Day quoted him as saying, "Prasoon Joshi is an intelligent man. I am shocked that he is seeing the scene [in such a light]. Don't all Indian parents ask their kids to showcase their dance and singing skills when guests are at home? Only a sick mind can think of anything sexual in it. I would want to ask him what was so sexual in the scene."
