Rashami Desai Reveals She Was Sushant Singh Rajput’s Close Friend At One Time; Calls His Demise A Personal Loss

One of the most hard-working, natural and exceptionally talented actors of the Hindi film industry, Sushant Singh Rajput bid the world a final adieu on 14th June. While heartbroken fans were not ready to accept reports of his sudden demise, the film fraternity and television industry were devastated by the loss of another gem. Sushant’s close friend and television actress Rashami Desai recently opened up about the late actor and called his death a personal loss.

Speaking to ETimes, the Naagin 4 actress shared, “Sometimes, reality is an illusion which is created by the world. I was a very close friend of Sushant once, but then slowly we lost touch as he became busy with his work in Bollywood and I got busy with my shows. He was doing so good in life, we were really proud of him. He is not a subject for me to talk and discuss because the kind of love and respect I have for him, I would not like to discuss. This is a personal loss to me.”

Rashami went on to add that Sushant was a very nice man and a wonderful actor and people are talking about him now when he’s gone. She stated, “Industry has lost a great talent and soon people will realise it. Not every one is hero material, that good-looking, not every one is intelligent, but he had both. Par waqt ne daga de diya.. As a person I know he was very good. This is industry's loss (takes a pause).”

Sushant began his career with theatre before moving on to work in television and wow the audience with his performances. He rose to fame as Manav Deshmukh of Ekta Kapoor’s hit show Pavitra Rishta. In 2013, the actor made a spectacular Bollywood debut with Kai Po Che. His final film Dil Bechara will be releasing on Disney+Hotstar on 24th July.
