Ravi Kishan On Anurag Kashyap’s Drug Allegations: ‘One Must Think A Thousand Times Before Thinking, Speaking Anything’

A week ago, BJP MP Ravi Kishan opened up about the rising issue of drug addiction and trafficking in our country. He had also stated, “Drug addiction is in the film industry too.” Well in a recent interview with Faye D’Souza, filmmaker Anurag Kashyap reacted to the actor turned politician’s statements and slammed him for taking a ‘self righteous stand’. The filmmaker stated that Ravi used to start his day by saying ‘Jai Shiv Shankar, Jai Bam Bhole’ and claimed that he smoked weed. Kashyap also added that the actor might have cleaned up now since he has become a minister.

Well this did not go down well with Ravi. Speaking to ANI, he said, “I do not need to justify what I currently do or used to do. It is my humble request to you Anurag babu. You know I respect you. You must understand what I am saying. One must think a thousand times before thinking or speaking anything. This goes for him too.” He went on to add that he did not expect such words from the filmmaker. Ravi stated, “It's no secret I am a devotee of Shiva so I chant his name. I'm saddened he would not support me on this issue of the war on drugs & say that I smoked up and am now clean just because I'm a minister, which I'm not.”

In his interview, Kashyap had claimed, “Ravi Kishan acted in my last film Mukkabaaz. Ravi Kishan starts his day by saying Jai Shiv Shankar, Jai Bam Bhole. Jai Shiv Shambhu. For the longest period of his time, he has been somebody who has used weed. It is life. Everybody knows it. The whole world knows. There’s not a single person who doesn’t know that Ravi Kishan does not smoke up. He might have quit now, that he has become a minister, he might have cleaned up.” He went on to add that he is not judging Ravi because he has never seen weed as a drug himself, but he has a problem with the actor’s ‘self righteous stand’.
