Rhea Chakraborty Recuperating From Trauma, Will Resume Work In Early 2021 Informs Filmmaker Rumi Jaffrey

2020 has been a tough year for actress Rhea Chakraborty. The actress who lost her boyfriend Sushant Singh Rajput this year and the investigations that were launched against her and her family thereafter brought the actress’ career to a staggering halt as she toiled with one major controversy after another.

According to filmmaker Rumi Jaffrey 2021 for the actress will be different. The filmmaker who had signed Rhea and Sushant in a film together before the latter’s unfortunate demise said the Rhea Chakraborty is presently recuperating and will be resuming work in the New Year.

The filmmaker told Spotboye during a conversation, “It has been a traumatic year for her. Of course the year was bad for everyone. But in her case it was a trauma on another level. Can you imagine any girl from a well-to-do middleclass family spending a month in jail? It has crushed her morale completely.”

Sharing an update on the professional front the filmmaker said, “Rhea will return to her work early next year.” 

The Chehre filmmaker also spoke about his recent meeting with Rhea and shared, "I met her recently. She was withdrawn and quiet. Didn’t speak much. Can’t blame her after what she has gone through. Let the heat and dust settle down. I’m sure Rhea will have a lot to say.”

The actress was named as the prime accused in an F.I.R filed by Sushant Singh Rajput’s family where the actor’s death was claimed as a case of abetment to suicide. The case was later passed on to the CBI for investigation and many new aspects of the case drew in the Enforcement Directorate as well as the Narcotics Control Bureau.

All three agencies questioned Rhea and her family while she was arrested and put in judicial custody by the NCB for alleged drug consumption along with her brother Showik Chakraborty.

Rhea Chakraborty will be seen in Chehre which also stars Amitabh Bachchan and Emraan Hashmi which was supposed to release in 2020 but has now been pushed for 2021.
