A report in India Today reveals a few details about Rhea’s statement in Sushant’s death case. During their Europe holiday in October 2019, the couple reportedly stayed at a 600-year-old heritage hotel in Italy, which had huge rooms and old paintings. One of the paintings was that of Saturn Devouring His Son, a creation of Spanish painter Francisco Goya. Rhea was reportedly in another room with her brother Showik, but when she returned she found Sushant chanting mantras using a Rudraksha. She revealed that he looked visibly shaken and he stated that he could see the characters in the painting, but was unable to describe it clearly.

Rhea and her brother Showik stayed in Sushant’s room that night and the actress consoled him and tried to explain that these were just hallucinations. The three later travelled to a detox centre in Austria but had to leave as Sushant was not feeling well. They were supposed to travel back to India on 2nd November but instead returned home on 28th October. Rhea claimed that Sushant was devoid of energy after the trip and would remain silent for long hours. She alleged that his condition worsened after they returned home and sometimes he would scream and shout or even cry. Rhea, who had been supporting her boyfriend through it all, eventually slipped into depression herself.

The report further states that Sushant asked Rhea to go back home on 8th June and even messaged her brother asking about her well-being two days later. Even after going back to her own house, Rhea said she wouldn't step out of her room, until she heard of Sushant’s death.

During the Supreme Court hearing for Rhea’s plea in the case, senior advocate Shyam Divan, who is representing the actress, stated that she was ‘in love with the deceased’ and is ‘under trauma’ after his death. He went on to add that the actress is being victimised and trolled on social media platforms.
