Rhea Chakraborty's Lawyer Says She Conducted Yoga Sessions For Inmates, Describes Her As The ‘Bengal Tigress’

Rhea Chakraborty was finally granted bail on Wednesday by the Bombay High Court. The actress was arrested on September 9, 2020, and was kept in the custody at Byculla jail for drug-related charges in the Sushant Singh Rajput’s case. Rhea’s bail plea was accepted by the HC after spending almost 28 days in jail with a bond of Rs. 1 lakh.

Soon after her release, Rhea’s lawyer Satish Maneshinde described her as the ‘Bengal tigress’ and shed light on how she spent her time in jail, he said that the actress was in good spirits, he also stated that Rhea conducted yoga sessions for her inmates in the prison and lived as a commoner.

In a recent interview with NDTV, Satish said, "I personally went to jail to see a client after so many years, because she was hounded, and I wanted to see the condition that she was in. I was fortunate to see that she was in good spirits. She looked after herself in jail. She used to conduct yoga classes for herself and her jail inmates."

Maneshinde said that Rhea adjusted herself in the jail and fought the conditions like a war, "She adjusted herself in the jail because she could not get home food because of the pandemic, and she lived with the inmates as if she was a commoner. Being an army girl, she fought the conditions like a battle, and she is ready to face any person who is trying to accuse her and harm her interests," he said.

He further believes that Sushant’s family was very ‘vindictive’ and the reason that the central agencies were behind Rhea was that she was the Sushant’s live-in partner. "The reason that she was hounded, was just because the family was after her. I don’t know for what reason, the family seems to be very vindictive as far as Rhea Chakraborty is concerned,” he said.

The HC has granted Rhea bail but with strict conditions. The court has asked her to appear at the Mumbai Police station for a period of 10 days. The actress cannot leave the city and her passport will be deposited, Rhea has also been asked not to tamper with evidence while out on bail. Apart from Rhea, SSR’s house manager Samuel Miranda, his house help Dipesh Sawant were also granted bail. However, Rhea’s brother Showik Chakraborty’s bail plea was rejected by the HC and he remains to be in jail.

Her bail plea brought gratitude to several celebs of the industry who came out in support of the actress including Taapsee Pannu, Swara Bhaskar, Farhan Akhtar, and Anubhav Sinha.
