Richa Chadha On Wedding With Ali Fazal: ‘The Pandemic Is Far From Over; It Is Only Wise To Wait For The Vaccine’

Life came to a standstill and most of our plans had to be cancelled after Prime Minister Narendra Modi declared a nationwide lockdown to help stop the spread of coronavirus in March. Fukrey co-stars and happy couple Richa Chadha and Ali Fazal also had to postpone their wedding, which was to take place in April this year, due to the pandemic. The two have now decided to wait for things to settle down so that when the time is right, they can celebrate their happiness with the new world.

Talking about their cancelled plans, Richa recently told Mid-Day, “Yes, it is unlikely that we will get married this year, because the pandemic is far from over. We would not like to endanger anyone due to our celebration. It is only wise to wait for the vaccine.” The actress went on to add, “This was inevitable. There's nothing we could do to control this, so we took a sensible decision. In the second week of March itself, we had decided that we won't get married in these conditions. People travelling would face a health risk and safety is most important right now.”

Richa and Ali met for the first time on the sets of their 2013 film Fukrey. However, Richa found the actor quite odd initially. As they spent more time together, they fell head over heels in love.
