Richa Chadha Talks About Being Replaced In Projects By Bigger Stars; Says ‘It Was Difficult & Still Is’

Richa Chadha is one of the most talented and versatile actors of the Hindi film industry. She wins the audiences over with every character she portrays and has garnered a huge fan following over the years. She recently left viewers in awe with her spectacular and bold performance in Shakeela, a biographical film based on the life of the adult star. Richa is now soaring high on the success of her latest release, Subhash Kapoor’s political drama titled Madam Chief Minister.

In a recent chat with ETimes, Richa opened up about being an ‘outsider’, someone who does not belong from a filmy background. The actress shared, “It was difficult and it still is. Sometimes we just get replaced at the last minute by someone who is a bigger star or someone who comes in because of a recommendation. However, things are getting better. It is amazing to see actors like Rajkummar Rao or even Ali Fazal reach where they are.”

Richa further shared, “I am not saying this just because he (Ali) is my partner. When he started doing web series, people told him not to do it, and look at how the world has opened up for him.” The actress stated that the fact that actors like Ali Fazal and Dimple Kapadia are doing Hollywood films is really heartening and added that it doesn’t matter what family one belongs to. “You might take time to reach where you want to but you will definitely get there if you are talented.”
