R.I.P Rishi Kapoor: Karisma, Kareena, Riddhima Pen Heartfelt Posts; Neetu, Alia Share A Message From The Family

The entire nation woke up to the heartbreaking news about Rishi Kapoor’s demise. After battling cancer for the last 2 years, the superstar breathed his last at the Sir H. N. Reliance Foundation Hospital in Mumbai today, leaving a huge void in our hearts. Fans have been showering social media since morning with posts expressing their grief and disbelief while celebrities paid their tribute. The actor’s daughter Riddhima Kapoor Sahni, who will be travelling from Delhi to Mumbai for his last rites, took to her official handle to pen a heartfelt message for her papa.

While Riddhima will miss their video calls every day, actress Karisma Kapoor will miss discussing food and restaurants with Chintu uncle. She shared an adorable unseen photograph featuring her, Rishi and her father Randhir and in this beautiful snap, the late actor is lovingly looking over her. Her sister Kareena Kapoor also shared a childhood picture of Randhir and Rishi with the simple yet sweet caption: “The best boys I know... Papa and Chintu uncle.”

The actor’s wife Neetu and son Ranbir’s girlfriend Alia Bhatt also took to their social media handles to share official statements from the family revealing that Chintu ji passed away at 8:45 am today but entertained the hospital staff till the last moment. They requested fans to follow and respect the laws that are in force during the coronavirus lockdown, because Rishi Kapoor would not have it any other way.

The superstar’s funeral will take place at Chandanwadi Crematorium in Kalbadevi, Mumbai today afternoon.
