    India has lost another gem in a span of just two days. Veteran actor Rishi Kapoor passed away in Mumbai on the morning of April 30 and the devastating news was shared by his friend and co-star of several films Amitabh Bachchan.

    Amitabh wrote in a tweet, ‘He’s GONE ..! Rishi Kapoor .. gone .. just passed away .. I am destroyed!”

    Rishi Kapoor was admitted to the hospital after a cancer relapse and complaints of breathing difficulty. The news of him being admitted to the hospital was confirmed by his elder brother Randhir Kapoor late on Wednesday evening. The actor was 67.

    The Bobby actor had been undergoing treatment in New York for 11 months and was declared cancer free a year ago in April 2019. An active Twitterati, Rishi Kapoor had gone missing from social media after 2 April with his last tweet requesting fellow citizens to not pelt stones on doctors, nurses and fight the coronavirus together.

    “An appeal to all brothers and sisters from all social status and faiths. Please don’t resort to violence, stone throwing or lynching. Doctors,Nurses,Medics, Policemen etc..are endangering their lives to save you. We have to win this Coronavirus war together. Please. Jai Hind!”

    The actor is survived by wife Neetu Kapoor, son Ranbir Kapoor, and daughter Ridhimma Kapoor.
