Rishi Kapoor Recalls How Ranbir Literally Forced Him Into The Aircraft And Other Details About His Battle With Cancer

Apart from his super successful career spanning over decades in Bollywood and acting chops, one thing we absolutely love about Rishi Kapoor is his candid nature.  In a recent interview, Rishi Kapoor was again his candid self and opened up about his recent battle with cancer.

The 67-year-old actor talked about this has been trying time for the family. He said, “It has been a difficult time, very taxing, but Neetu and my children have been very supportive. I am waiting to come back and raring to get going. My son literally forced me into the aircraft and flew here with me. The acceptance comes gradually.”

Talking about his treatment procedure, Kapoor explained, “he cancer is in remission, but I am still under treatment.” The actor informed that there was a six-week gap between one treatment and the next when one could live a normal life, something which he wanted to do in Mumbai rather than in New York.”

When asked about his plans of coming back, Kapoor informed, “I will plan my return five-six weeks after my last treatment. It is called consolidation or pushback, whereby I will have to undergo chemotherapy to ensure that the ailment does not return. This is the second time I am going through the treatment. I am hoping that I can plan an end-August return but all this talk that I will be back in early September for my birthday, is again nothing but speculation.”

He also recalled how he was in shooting for a film in Delhi when he got the news and his hair was dyed white for the whole. But the report circulated that he is so ill that his hairs have turned gray in a matter of few days. He further explained how everyone who came to meet him in New York posted pictures with him to let everyone that he was doing better.
