Rishi Kapoor’s Last Film, Sharmaji Namkeen, Alongside Juhi Chawla To Release Next Year

Rishi Kapoor had been one of the most profilic actors of the Hindi film industry whose career has spanned for over 45 years. After his cancer diagnosis in 2018, the one thing that he wanted to do is return back to acting as soon as possible. In fact, he had also joked that with blood transfusion and new blood in his body, would he now have acting not in his blood anymore! One of the last films he had signed was Sharmaji Namkeen, in which he worked alongside Juhi Chawla. In fact, he had been shooting for this film earlier this year too in Delhi. But with his sudden demise on 30thApril, many people assumed that the project might be shelved. But the makers have now confirmed that they have no intentions to not finish it and the film would definitely see the light to the day.

The film is being produced by Excel Entertainment and a source close to the production house was quoted by Pinkvilla saying, “Excel has no intention of abandoning the film or leaving it incomplete. Sharmaji Namkeen was Rishi sir’s last film and we will leave no stone unturned to make sure that the film is completed. It’s the least we can do to honour the memory of Rishi sir.”

In fact, Rishi Kapoor had shot for the film in January and February despite the death of his sister, Ritu Nanda. He continued to shoot in Delhi and displayed high professionalism. During the shoot, he had also been hospitalized in Delhi, but when fans had shown concern, he dismissed it and said it was only due to the pollution in Delhi.

The film will now be even more special and we hope that it releases soon.
