Sacred Games 2: What Roles Are Kalki Koechlin And Ranvir Shorey Playing In The New Season? We Have The Answer

We could not be more proud of the fact that India’s first Netflix Original turned out to be something as brilliant as Sacred Games. With an exciting storyline, world-class direction and top-notch performances, it was a show that made us realize the true potential of Indian content creators.

Now that the much-awaited second season of the show is about to see the light of the day, we are delighted to meet Ganesh Gaitonde and Sartaj Singh once again. But what really piqued our interest are the two new addition to the cast, Kalki Koechlin and Ranvir Shorey.

Just in case you were dying to find out what roles these stellar actors are going to play in the series, we have the answer for you.

The show that is based on a book by the same name has a character named Shahid Khan that would be essayed by Ranvir Shorey in the series. According to the book, he has ties with a radical Islamic outfit and is working in disguise at the Pakistani Embassy in London. It would be interesting to see what chain of events he sets rolling for Gaitonde and/or Sartaj.

Coming to another new addition to the cast, Kalki would be playing the role of Batya. Unlike Ranvir’s character, her character is not there in the book and is an original creation of the makers of the show. From the looks of it, it seems she will be playing the role of one of Guruji’s (Pankaj Tripathi) disciple and might wreak some havoc in the life of Gaitonde.

There are also reports suggesting that Shobhita Dhulipala of the Made In Heaven fame might also join the cast of the show.

Apart from the actors, direction Neeraj Ghaywan, who directed Masaan, would also be an addition. He would be replacing Vikramaditya Motwane who directed Sartaj Singh’s track in the story in the last season.
