Saif Ali Khan Reveals Why He Hasn’t Worked With Daughter Sara Yet; Says They Have Been Offered 5 Films Together

Saif Ali Khan’s much awaited film Jawaani Jaaneman hit theatres today and received a great response from the audience. Also starring Tabu in an important role, the comedy drama marks Pooja Bedi’s daughter Alaya Furniturewala’s debut in the Hindi film industry. According to reviews and social media polls, she has done an amazing job and is here to stay. However, earlier reports suggested that Saif’s daughter Sara Ali Khan was the original choice for the film.

When questioned about the same, Saif had stated that it was a back-up film for Sara and she did not need it because Kedarnath had worked out. Now, in a recent chat with ETimes, Saif opened up about the same and shared, “Well, I mean, generally speaking, my whole family's in movies, you know my mother's in movies, my sister, my brother-in-law, sister-in-law, wife and daughter. So I would tend not to cast any of them as those real-life roles. Generally, I think the film is about something else. And I mean, the only time I would want to cast Sara or give her something would be if she needed my help. But generally speaking, her trajectory and her path should be different. She should be working with the people she's working with right now. And we should not confuse issues.”

Opening up about future collaborations with her, he revealed, “We've been offered a few many things because I line of work is quite an opportunist also. Yes. People have asked us and we've been offered about five films together, which have not been done for one reason or another. The film needs to be appealing to both of us. Yeah. So when we do it, it should be something that both of us are excited about.”

Well, it sure would be amazing to see the father-daughter duo together on the big screen. What type of a script do you think will suit them?
