Saif Ali Khan's Statements On Making Ravan 'Humane' In Adipurush Irk Tweeps, Demands For Boycotting The Film Follow

Saif Ali Khan is all set to play bad guy once again as he steps into the shoes of Lankesh in Om Raut’s mega adaptation of the Ramayan, Adipurush, and even before the film has gone on floors the actor has started receiving severe backlash. Happened so that Saif spoke about playing the daemon king in the Prabhas starrer film and revealed that his version of Ravan will be ‘humane’ and will justify the battle that he picked with Ram and his abduction of Sita.

Saif’s comments launched a severe backlash on social media with users demanding that he be dropped from the project for making such statements. Not just Saif the interview also drew the ire of the netizens towards the Om Raut film and its motivations. Slamming the film tweeps called for boycotting Adipurush.

The statements were made during an interview with Mumbai Mirror where Saif spoke about his role and said, “It’s interesting to play a demon king, less strictures in that. But we will make him humane, up the entertainment quotient, justify his abduction of Sita and the war with Ram as revenge for what was done to his sister Surpanakha by Lakshman, who cut off his nose.”

This is however not the first time that Saif’s comments have ignited controversy, during the promotions of Tanhaji: The Unsung Warrior as well, the actor had landed in trouble for questioning the film’s historical accuracy.

Adipurush will be going on floors in January 2021 and will see Prabhas eassay the role of Ram while Kriti Sanon reportedly has been roped in to play Sita.
