Saif Ali Khan to play firefighter in his next project, says all his upcoming projects can be represented as emoticons

Saif Ali Khan is on a film signing spree and the latest addition in his list of exciting projects is a film called Fire. The Bhoot Police star has opened up about reuniting with Farhan Akhtar and Ritesh Sidhwani who will be backing the film with their banner Excel Entertainment. He had last worked with them 20 years ago on Dil Chahta Hai where he featured alongside Aamir Khan and Akshaye Khanna.

The actor will play a firefighter in the film which will be helmed by Rahul Dholakia who had last directed Shah Rukh Khan in Raees. Talking about Fire Saif told the portal, “I have been wanting to do a film with Excel for a while now. In-fact, we have signed up for a film called Fire. It’s about the fireman.”

Drawing parallel between his upcoming projects and emoticons said further added, “I have noticed that a lot of roles that I am doing, and this is what I mean by being commercial, can be represented by an emoticon on the phone chat. For Bhoot Police, there is a ghost, for Adipurush, there is a red devil, a cop for Vikram Vedha, and for Fire, there’s a fireman too. I think the next role that I chose has to be an emoticon.”

Fire will reportedly go on floors next year. For now Saif is focused on wrapping up Adipurush which is said to be in its last leg of production. Post this he will begin shooting for Vikram Vedha with Hrithik Roshan.
