Sajid Nadiadwala Dedicates Chhichhore National Award To Sushant; Director Nitesh Tiwari Is Sure The Actor Is Smiling

Chhichhore is an extremely special film to most of us. Not only did it feature a killer story-line and some of the most exceptional performances by a fantastic ensemble cast, but also marked late actor Sushant Singh Rajput’s last theatre release. Also starring Shraddha Kapoor, Varun Sharma, Tahir Raj Bhasin, Naveen Polishetty, Tushar Pandey and Saharsh Kumar Shukla, the masterpiece bagged the National Award for Best Film yesterday and fans could not have been happier. Producer Sajid Nadiadwala even dedicated the award to Sushant, who won our hearts as Anni.

Varun aka Sexa, who was Anni’s BFF in the film, also took to his social media handle to share, “A Film which is truly special to all of us. A Film which is very close to our Hearts. This one is for you Kammo.” Director Nitesh Tiwari, on the other hand, is sure that Sushant is smiling down at us. In a chat with Pinkvilla, he shared, “I feel so honoured and humbled. And I am very happy for my team. Everyone had put in their heart in soul in the film. There is a sense of happiness in the team as well as sadness. But all of us are sure that Sushant is smiling somewhere up there and sending us his love and hugs.”

Chhichhore follows the story of Anirudh aka Anni and Maya, who recount their college days to their son after he attempts suicide because he failed an entrance examination. The film taught us many things, including how to deal with our failures and to never lose hope. Congratulations to the team of Chhichhore! This is definitely a well-deserved win.
