Salman Khan Chooses Aayush Sharma Starrer Guns Of North Over Saare Jahaan Se Achcha; Here’s Why

Bollywood’s Bhaijaan Salman Khan has been stuck at his Panvel farmhouse since March this year, because of the nationwide coronavirus lockdown. Well as soon as the COVID-19 case count drops, the actor will get back into action and fans can expect 4 back-to-back releases in theatres. That’s right! Other than Radhe, which has a few days of shoot left, Salman will shine on the big screen in Kabhi Eid Kabhi Diwali, the third installment of Ek Tha Tiger and Guns Of North co-starring Aayush Sharma. Well according to latest reports there was another film in his kitty which the superstar had to decline, due to Guns Of North.

Earlier this year it was announced that Salman will be playing the lead role in Siddharth Roy Kapur’s space drama Saare Jahaan Se Achcha. A report in Bollywood Hungama reveals that the two met in February this year to discuss the project and Salman was impressed with the script. This was much before the lockdown was declared and the actor had almost 6 months free in between Radhe and Kabhi Eid Kabhi Diwali shooting. The script was locked and the film was ready to go on floors. However, Salman rejected Saare Jahaan Se Achcha and opted for Guns Of North instead.

Revealing the reason, a source was quoted saying, “This was also the time when Salman Khan’s production house was putting together Guns Of North. He got interested in the role of the Sikh cop in the script. It’s a prominent character and the way it was written interested Salman. Guns Of North, too, was to go on floors at the same time and he had to choose between this film and Saare Jahaan Se Achcha. He chose Guns Of North as it’s an action-packed role which even his fans would lap it up. Also, Salman is aware that a few years later, he might not be able to do such roles. Hence, he chose to act in Aayush Sharma’s next.”

While Aayush will be portraying the role of a gangster in the film, Salman will play the character of a Sikh cop. A remake of Marathi hit Mulshi Pattern, Abhiraj Minawala’s directorial Guns Of North will reportedly be based in Punjab.
