Salman Khan On Priyanka Chopra Quitting Bharat: 'Women Leave Their Husbands To Work With Me, Priyanka Left Bharat'

Ever since Priyanka Chopra left Salman Khan’s Bharat there has been a constant buzz that all is not well between the two Bollywood stars. The director of the film Ali Abbas Zafar has maintained that even despite Priyanka’s last-minute exit from the film there is no bad blood between them and it definitely doesn’t mean that they will not be collaborating again in the future. Despite all such assurances, Salman’s recent statements are definitely not giving the same vibe as his words.

During the launch of the Bharat song ‘Zinda’, Salman interjected Katrina saying ‘Thank you Priyanka’, while she spoke about how she was abruptly brought on board. Explaining his thank you comment to Mumbai Mirror the actor said, “Thank you, Priyanka! I will always be thankful to her. Bharat was about to go on the floors and just five days before the shooting, Priyanka meets me and says that she wouldn’t be able to work in the film. Now, if Priyanka hadn’t left Bharat, how could we have brought Katrina on board?”

But that wasn’t all, he went on to add that despite the meaty role Priyanka ‘chose to play the role of a wife, which is even more beautiful.’ According to Salman, there has been no conversation between them since. "No, even after the release of the trailer, Priyanka didn’t call me. Now, if she had some genuine problem then it’s alright. I believe, whatever happens, happens for the good."

Priyanka left Bharat at the very last minute after she got engaged to Nick Jonas and according to Salman he had even offered to adjust the dates for her, “I had told Priyanka that we will adjust the dates for her. She said that she isn’t sure how much time she needs for the preparation of her wedding.”

He even went on to add that, “While many would give anything for the film or maybe even leaving their husband, Priyanka left the film.” But he did sum up the conversation saying that there is no bitterness between them and if Priyanka offers him a film with ‘a meaty role’ to would love work with her.

Katrina Kaif was brought in as the lead after Priyanka left and now the whole matter is history. Bharat releases in theatres on Eid.
