Sandeep Aur Pinky Faraar: Dibakar Banerjee Feels Parineeti’s Character Is The Focal Point Of Film

Back in 2012 when Arjun Kapoor and Parineeti Chopra appeared together in YRF’s Ishaqzaade, they left the audience wanting more with their wonderful on-screen chemistry. Sadly, fans couldn’t see the same magic in their second film Namaste England. However, they waited patiently to watch them shine on the big screen again for their third film together. Well, Dibakar Banerjee’s Sandeep Aur Pinky Faraar hits theatres today and we have great expectations from the black comedy as well as the lead pair.

In a recent report shared by Bollywood Hungama, a source close to the development shared an interesting fact about the film. The source revealed, “Usually, in the opening credits, it is the actor’s name that is mentioned followed by that of the actress. But in Sandeep Aur Pinky Faraar’s opening credits, it is Parineeti’s name that comes up before Arjun.” The report further went on to reveal that this was director Dibakar Banerjee’s idea.

The source explained, “He believes that Parineeti Chopra’s character Sandeep is the focal point in the film. She brings all the characters together. Hence, even the title of the film is Sandeep Aur Pinky Faraar and not the other way round.”

While Parineeti will be seen as Sandeep Kaur, Arjun has portrayed the character of Pinkesh "Pinky" Dahiya in the film. Are you planning to catch a show of Sandeep Aur Pinky Faraar at the theatre today?
