Sandip Ssingh Seeks Rs 200 Crore Compensation As He Sues A News Channel For Airing Defamatory News Against Him

Recently, leading Bollywood producers and filmmakers have filed a complaint in the Delhi High Court against “irresponsible and defamatory reporting by certain media houses”, amid the Sushant Singh Rajput death case. Now, reports are that producer and late actor Sushant Singh Rajput’s friend Sandip Ssingh has sent a legal notice to a prominent journalist and his news channel for airing derogatory news reports against him.

Sandip Ssingh took to his social media handle to share the picture of the legal notice along with the caption, "It's Payback time @republicworld #Defamation #EnoughIsEnough."

Earlier, it was believed that Sandip is a close pal of Sushant as he was one of the few people who came to the late actor’s residence on June 14 to look over the situation but according to Sandip's call records by various news channels, it was seen that Sandip was not in touch with Sushant from the last few months.

In his legal notice, Sandip has not only filed a defamation suit against the news channel and the journalist, but he has also mentioned names of Sushant's friends including Smita Parikh and Surjeet Singh Rathore. In the suit, Sandip has sought a great compensation of Rs 200 crores and an unconditional apology. Not only this, but he has also demanded the removal of all the video footage and false articles which are defamatory in nature.

Reportedly, Sandip has also alleged that a news channel official told him that unless he agrees to "financially benefit the channel", they will continue to air defamatory news against him. A part of the legal suit read, "Further you are required to compensate my client to the tune of Rs.200 crores (Two hundred crores) for maligning his image in public and damages you have made till date. If you failed to comply with the requirements stated above within 15 days from the receipt of this notice, I have clear instructions to take strict legal action against you Notices by filing civil as well as criminal cases in appropriate courts of law, which shall be solely at your own risks, costs and consequences."
