Sanjana Sanghi Claims Sushant Singh Rajput Was 'Sure' Someone Had A Plan To Malign His Reputation After Me Too Allegations

Sushant Singh Rajput suicide is being investigated by the Mumbai police from all possible angles. Nearly 30 people have so far recorded their statements at the Bandra police station the latest being the late actor’s last co-star Sanjana Sanghi.

The actress who is making her debut with the film Dil Bechara was grilled by the police for over nine hours at the police station and according to Sanjana’s statement, she wasn’t aware at first that Sushant was his co-star in the film and met his for the first time on set. She bagged the lead role in the film after auditioning for Mukesh Chhabra in 2018 according to a Zee News report.

In the same year, there were Me Too allegations on Sushant Singh Rajput for over-friendly behaviour with the actress on set while Mukesh Chhabra and Sushant both brushed off the rumors as baseless. Sanjana revealed when these rumours went viral she was on a U.S. tour with her mother and upon returning she issued a statement on social media clarifying these were false. According to the report she never made any Me Too allegations on the actor and he never touched her inappropriately as the rumours claimed.

Sushant had shared screenshots of his conversation with Sanjana after consulting her when she was in the U.S. and she had no problems with him posting those.

The report further asserts that Sushant was depressed after such reports went viral and he told Sanjana he was sure that through the Me Too allegations someone was trying to malign his reputation with a plan. She also said that he never said who it was.

She also said that they never spoke about his personal life and except some stories about Patna and all their conversations were about movies.

The police is also trying to determine if there’s any truth to the ‘professional rivalry’ angle of the report and in the matter even looked at the actor’ contract with YRF and spoke to his various professional contacts including his team and YRF casting director Shanoo Sharma.
