Sanjana Sanghi Feels Sushant Set The Bar High For Her Future Co-Stars; Says ‘Both Of Us Were Similarly Wired’

Sushant Singh Rajput was not only an exceptionally talented and hard-working actor, but also an incredibly warm-hearted human being. His co-stars and directors adored him and fans would smile each time he shined on the big screen. When he bid his final adieu to the world, the entire nation was not only heartbroken but also shocked to hear about his sudden demise. In fact, some are still having a hard time dealing with the loss. One such celebrity, who has yet to come to terms with Sushant’s demise, is his Dil Bechara co-star Sanjana Sanghi.

Sanjana and Sushant will soon be seen in Mukesh Chhabra’s directorial debut Dil Bechara. They had a gala time shooting together and became really good friends over the time. Sanjana was also used to getting calls and texts from her co-star, cheering her on for her debut film. In a chat with Mid-Day, she shared, “When the trailer dropped [on July 6], I thought he will text me, saying 'You have killed it, rockstar!' That's what he would say after a good day on the set. I am not even close to coming to terms with what happened. I know it will hit me in two to three months.”

Sanjana went on to add, “In my head, nobody other than Sushant could have played Manny. Both of us were similarly wired — we were crazy about cinema and books, and our perspectives would often align. If I was nervous about a scene, he would notice it, put his arm around me and take me for a walk. During the stroll, he would run me through the scene and I was good to go after that. Honestly, he has set the bar high for my [future] co-actors.”

Dil Bechara, a coming-of-age romantic drama based on John Green's 2012 novel The Fault in Our Stars, will premiere on OTT platform Disney+Hotstar on 24th July.
