Sanjana Sanghi Responds To Kangana's Claims That She Took Her 'Own Sweet Time' To Clear Sushant's #MeToo Allegations

Dil Bechara released last night on Disney + Hotstar and we, as the audience, are having the bitter-sweet experience to see one of the most talented actors perform on-screen for the last time. Before the release of the film, director Mukesh Chhabra and actress Sanjana Sanghi had been promoting it. One recurrent question posed to the actress was that of the MeToo allegations leveled against Sushant Singh Rajput. She had clarified it with a tweet that it was false when it appeared before and recently too, she talked about it. But actress Kangana Ranaut team had taken to Twitter and asked why she took her 'own sweet time' to clear his name. Now, Sanjana has retorted to that as well.

In an interview with Zoom, she has sharply said that no one is to decide what's 'late'. She said, "I have said more than enough about what happened. Also, I’ve given a clarification which should have been enough. At that time, it wasn’t late, nobody is in authority to decide what’s late and what’s not. You don’t fuel rumours.” She further said that it should not be called a Me Too case at all. “We shouldn’t disregard the #MeToo movement by calling it 'Me Too' because Me Too is when there’s an actual issue. But when two people are trying to say there’s no issue, that’s not called the Me Too movement that’s rumour mockery and that shows the power of unethical reporting.”

Earlier, Kangana had targetted Sanjana and said, "Many blinds claimed tht Sushant raped Sanjana,such news abt her harassment wr common in those days,Why Sanjana took her own sweet time to clarify?Why she nvr spoke so passionately abt her friendship with him when he ws alive? @mumbaipolice cn investigate.”(sic)

Allegations of misconduct were leveled against Sushant during the filming of Dil Bechara. He took to his social media and had shared screenshots of his conversation with Sanjana. In a few days, the actress too had said that these rumours were false.
