Sanjay Leela Bhansali Announces His Diwali 2021 Release After Gangubai Kathiawadi, All Set To Remake This Classic Magnum Opus

Sanjay Leela Bhansali has constantly been in the news these last two years for various reasons. After putting behind all the controversies and his latest fall out with Salman Khan over Inshallah, Sanjay Leela Bhansali announced his next project, Gangubai Kathiawadi starring Alia Bhatt.

However, looks like he is in a really inspired place creatively as he has already announced his next project after the release of Gangubai Kathiawadi on 11^th September 2020. His production house announced that Sanjay will work on his most ambitious magnum opus ‘Baiju Bawra’ which would be the big Diwali release of 2021. The announcement describes the film as a ‘revenge story of a maverick maestro’.

The cast of the film has not been announced yet but the description fits the 1952 blockbuster Baiju Bawra which was about a young musician Baiju who challenged the musical maestro Tansen in Akbar’s court as he believes that Tansen is responsible for the death of his father. Clearly, Bhansali’s film is going to be a remake of this classic and with this Bhansali will foray into the remake genre which he has not explored yet. Honestly, a Bhansali touch to the classic Baiju Bawra is something that is making us really excited about the film.
