Sanjay Leela Bhansali composes new track for Gangubai Kathiawadi, won’t be using songs from Inshallah

It was recently reported that Alia Bhatt will resume shooting for Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s much awaited Gangubai Kathiawadi after 15th June. The filming came to a halt when Bhansali contracted coronavirus, soon after the teaser was unveiled. When he recovered, Alia tested positive and then a janta curfew was announced. The team is expected to shoot a dance sequence this month after which they can finally call it a wrap. Interestingly, buzz suggested that Bhansali may use the music from his shelved film Inshallah for Gangubai Kathiawadi.

Well, a source has now clarified that these are just rumors and the filmmaker has composed a brand new song for Gangubai Kathiawadi himself. In a report shared by Spotboye, the source was quoted saying, “There’s nothing in common between Inshallah and Gangubai Kathiawadi except Alia Bhatt. While SLB’s music and songs for Inshallah were soft romantic ballads, here in Gangubai he’s going in quite an opposite direction. The songs in Gangubai will be raw earthy and folksy. For the first time SLB is doing a folk-based music score.”

Alia was going to share the silver screen with Bollywood’s Bhaijaan Salman Khan for the very first time in Inshallah. However, the superstar walked out of the project due to creative differences and later Alia’s Gangubai Kathiawadi was announced.
