Sara Ali Khan credits late Sushant Singh Rajput for teaching her Hindi and acting while working on Kedarnath: 'I am so lucky'

Sara Ali Khan took a trip down memory lane to her first ever Bollywood film Kedarnath and recalled her best memory of shooting for the project. The actress also remembered her late co-star Sushant Singh Rajput and credited him for teaching her acting in a recent interview.

As far as her best memory goes, the Kedarnath actress told India.com, “It has to be my first shot ever… because it was my first shot ever. It was the first time that I was acting. It was a 45 days schedule out of Bombay without my mom which is something I am not used to at all. 45 days in Kedarnath- getting into the groove of acting and my character – working with Sushant and Gattu sir (Abhishek Kapoor) – it was all unreal.”

Talking about collaborating with Sushant, Sara added, “I feel I am privileged and grateful to have been given this opportunity. I have said this before and I’ll say this again that everything from acting to Hindi – everything that I have learned as an actor – I was taught that by Sushant and I am so lucky to have had that opportunity in Kedarnath. This is the highlight for me.”

Kedarnath released in 2018 and was based on the backdrop of the Uttarakhand floods of 2013. Sara and Sushant who led the project were shown to be an inter-faith relationship. Sara recently had shared a post on Sushant’s first death anniversary remembering him.

“Whenever I needed help, advice or a laugh you were always there. You introduced me to the world of acting, made me believe that dreams could come true, and gave me all that I have today. Still can’t believe you’re gone. But every time I look at the stars, the rising sun or the moon I know you’re here.
From Kedarnath to Andromeda,” the actress wrote in her post for Sushant.

Kedarnath was one of Sushant’s last few films in Bollywood. He died on June 14 2020.
