Sara Ali Khan Played With Deepika Padukone's Lip Glosses And Ate Parathas On Saif's Love Aaj Kal Sets, Says 'Why Was I Doing That?'

Sara Ali Khan has often been questioned about starring in the sequel of Love Aaj Kal, a film that originally starred her father Saif Ali Khan as the leading man back in 2009. It has been 11 years since the film and now with Sara starring in a film by the same name certainly adds to the curiosity apart from the obvious SarTik factor. In a recent interview with film critic Rajeev Masand, Sara was asked if Imtiaz Ali ever compared her to Saif while shooting the film and the actress recalled the time she visited the sets of the original film.

Sara said that all she remembers doing on sets of Saif’s Love Aaj Kal was play with Deepika Padukone’s lip gloss and eat parathas. “The girl that was just wanting to play with Deepika’s lip glosses is really not the girl in the film. I really want to go back in time and be like how could you have been on that set and not even watch a single take. I was only eating parathas and only playing with lip gloss and I am just like why was I doing that?”

Talking about Imtiaz Ali’s reaction to working with her after Saif she remembers the filmmaker commenting, “He says to me that I can’t believe that the girl who used to say ‘adaab’ is now this girl on my set, wearing shorts and saying ‘you refuse to sleep with me?’. He’s like it’s so difficult to even think of you like that.”

Saif Ali Khan had also earlier commented on the trailer of Sara’s film and said that he preferred the trailer to his own Love Aaj Kal.

The new Love Aaj Kal also stars Kartik Aaryan and will be releasing on 14 February 2020.
