Sardar Ka Grandson: Neena Gupta Opens Up About Getting The Look Right To Play Arjun Kapoor’s 80-Year-Old Grandmother

Well, to make our days at home fun and full of entertainment, many filmmakers are releasing their much awaited projects on digital platforms. One such film is Arjun Kapoor, Rakul Preet Singh and Neena Gupta starrer Sardar Ka Grandson. It follows the story of an 80 year old woman from Amritsar who wishes to see her house in Lahore. Since she cannot travel due to various reasons, her grandson decides to bring the house to her.

The trailer won hearts and fans can’t wait to see Neena shine on-screen once again. But did you know that getting the look of an 80 year old grandmother took a lot of effort? In a chat with Mid Day, the veteran actress shared, “The team left me astounded by the amount of effort they put in helping me get the perfect look. Sometimes, we went through 10 rounds [of make-up] to get the prosthetics right.” In fact, she would arrive at the set two hours prior to the required time so that her team would have enough time to do her makeup and prosthetics.

Neena ji was quoted saying, “They also made sure to experiment with different kinds of materials so that the prosthetics wouldn’t hamper my performance. We braced ourselves for long and painful sessions. Hard work and dedication went in to create my look.” Well, it definitely paid off because she looks very convincing and absolutely adorable!
