Satyamev Jayate 2 box office: John Abraham's triple role fails to excite the audience, film has a dull day 1 at the ticket windows

John Abraham starrer Satyamev Jayate 2 got an edge over Salman Khan starrer Antim The Final Truth by arriving in cinemas on a Thursday while the latter was released today. The masala entertainer as filmmaker Milap Zaveri called his Satayamev Jayate 2, however, seems to have failed to excite the audience enough to rush to the theaters in the middle of the week.

According to early estimates, as reported by Box Office India for Day 1 of Satyamev Jayate 2, the film managed to earn a nett income of Rs. 3 crores approximately doing better in single screen theatres as compared to the multiplexes. The movie with a patriotic tinge which features John Abraham in a triple role opened to mix reviews and will hopefully pick up pace in the coming days.

Both Antim and Satyamev Jayate 2 are eyeing for the attention of the single screen audiences and only the first weekend report will tell which film proved to have impressed the audience more. Satyamev Jayate 2 opened across 2500 screens on 25 November with an additional 1000 screens outside India.

Meanwhile, Akshay Kumar’s Sooryavanshi continues its glorious run at the box office having collected nearly 185 crores after arriving on Diwali. The film will give a stiff competition to the two new arrivals in cinemas as it did for Bunty Aur Babli 2 last week.
