One of the most bold and beautiful actresses of Bollywood, Kangana Ranaut has been extremely active on social media since the past few months. May it be her attempts to bring late actor Sushant Singh Rajput to justice, her fight against the ‘movie mafia’ or voicing her opinions without a care in the world, Kangana’s tweets are always making headlines. She has never been afraid of speaking her mind and that’s what her fans love about her. But not everyone in the industry agrees with her opinions.

In a recent report shared by Mumbai Mirror, veteran actress Shabana Azmi shared her thoughts on Kangana’s statements about the need to save the industry from all kinds of terrorism, such as nepotism and the drug mafia. She shared, “Kangana has started believing in her own myth. She says she taught feminism to the film industry, she taught it nationalism. I'm glad she spelled that out because nobody else had noticed! I think she fears the day when she will no longer be in the headlines and so has to keep making outrageous statements to stay in the news. Poor girl, why doesn't she just do what she is best at, which is acting.”

Talking about the industry, Shabana ji stated that her primary identity is that of being a Hindi film industry actor and she is very proud of it. But unfortunately the Hindi film industry is a sitting duck and it is easy to hurl malevolent accusations. She explained, “It is a systematic campaign to divert attention from real issues, failing economy, China border tensions, spiralling Covid cases, and farmers' agitation by putting the spotlight on the supposed ills of the film industry. Like Urmila Matondkar said, if the film industry is as awful as is being projected, why did the PM call a delegation and ask them to make films on Mahatma Gandhi's ideology?”
