Shah Rukh Khan Rejected 20 Films And Has Given His Nod To Just 4? Read Details...

What is going to be Shah Rukh's next is a question that has been haunting fans for a long time. While the actor has kept mum about his future projects, sources have pretty much confirmed that he would be working with Siddharth Anand next for Pathan, which will be a part of YRF's 50 year celebration projects. Now, we have learnt that the actor seems to have gone through as many as 50 scripts and rejected some 20 films to give his nod to just four films!

According to a report in Bollywood Hungama, the actor had spent all the time after Zero to read scripts. He was to start Rakesh Sharma's biopic, Salute, after Zero but walked out of it after the latter's debacle on the box-office. He had offers from filmmakers like Madhur Bhandarkar, Sanjay Leela Bhansali and Ali abbas Zafar, but SRK turned them down. The report mentions that Bhandarkar had approached him for Inspector Ghalib, an action film but the actor wasn't sure if Bhandarkar, whose forte is realistic cinema, would be able to shoulder the larger than life film. Sanjay Leela Bhansali had apparently offered him the Sahir Ludianvi biopic, but he reportedly felt the project would be 'risky and too serious'. Ali Abbas Zafar wanted to cast SRK for the Mr. India reboot, for the role of the antagonist, and it was almost confirmed that he would sign it. But, a source said, “Why would SRK be a part of the film that has someone else play Mr. India? It’s an obvious decision to back off. He wanted to do a solo action film with Ali and that might happen in the future.”

The report further claims that Salman Khan had also approached him to play the character of the cop in Aayush Sharma starrer gangster drama, Guns and Roses, but he refused that too. The same source said, "Back then, the cop was more of an extended cameo, and that's definitely not what SRK was looking for."

So apart from Pathan, SRK has reportedly signed Rajkumar Hirani’s social comedy, Atlee’s commercial actioner, and Raj and DK’s quirky action-comedy. We can only imagine how good the scripts would have been to have gotten SRK's nod. Now we can't wait to see him on the big screen.
