    The film industry was still trying to cope with Rishi Kapoor, Irrfan Khan, Wajid Khan and Sushant Singh’s loss when we got news about Saroj Khan’s sudden demise. One of the most popular and respected dance choreographers of our country, Saroj ji was admitted to Guru Nanak Hospital in Mumbai a few weeks ago after she complained of difficulty in breathing. While it was reported that she would be discharged soon, she breathed her last on 3rd July due to a cardiac arrest leaving us heartbroken. Among other celebrities, Shah Rukh Khan mourned the loss of Bollywood’s beloved Master ji.

    Saroj Khan has choreographed over 2,000 songs in her career of 46 long years and has worked with some of the biggest personalities of the Hindi film industry. Well, Shah Rukh collaborated with Master ji for super hit films such as Pardes, Dilwale Dulhania Le Jayenge, Baazigar and Devdas among others and shared a special bond with the choreographer. Mourning her loss, he penned an emotional message which read: “My first genuine teacher in the film industry. She taught me for hours how to do the ‘dip’ for film dancing. One of the most caring, loving & inspiring persona i have ever met. Will miss you Sarojji. May Allah bless her soul. Thank u for looking after me.”


    While Saroj Khan isn’t amongst us anymore, she left us with many sweet memories to remember her by. We hope she finds peace and know for sure that she will continue to live on in our hearts forever.
