Actor Shahid Kapoor whose last film Padmaavat was a huge success at the box-office is back with this light-hearted drama that focuses on the electricity issues in rural areas.

Also starring Divyendu Sharma and Yami Gautam, the film revolves around the life of three friends living life to the fullest in a small city. To maintain the feel of the film, the director made sure that the film was shot in a small town surrounded by local people.

Director Shree Narayan Singh says, "Batti Gul Meter Chalu is a subject close to my heart. I know the problems the interiors of the country face thanks to the fluctuations of electricity. Toilet Ek Prem Katha dealt with the issue against the backdrop of a love story. This time the issue is intertwined with friendship. Sidharth and Garima who wrote Toilet..., have written this also. Bhushanji has been a huge support. Shahid, Shraddha and the entire cast has been completely involved right from the beginning. We have given it our best. The trailer is out today. I am excited and nervous.

”Producer Bhushan Kumar adds,“Batti Gul Meter  Chalu is a unique subject, which has not been attempted before in Hindi cinema. As a producer, it has been a creative high to bring Shree Narayan Singh’s socially relevant directorial vision to the big screen.”

Batti Gul Meter Chalu, produced by Bhushan Kumar, Krishan Kumar, Nitin Chandrachud, Kusum Arora, Nishant Pitti under the banner of T-Series Films and Krti Pictures is slated to release on 21st September 2018.
