Sandeep Reddy Vanga's Kabir Singh, which is the Hindi remake of the Telugu hit film Arjun Reddy, is the biggest money churner of the year so far. Audiences have loved the Shahid Kapoor- Kiara Advani starrer enough to make it the highest grossing and most profitable film of the year, but there is also a section of the janta who was highly uncomfortable watching the film. The main problem lied in the toxicity that Kabir meted out in the name of love. And this has also been a topic of heated debate.

In a recent conclave, this topic was brought up again. Shahid Kapoor was a guest andd speajer, and when the subject was brought up, he said,

"If you think cinema is an educational institution that you're taught what you should or should not to do, that's your choice. Cinema is meant to mirror life. It's about representing the truth. It's an adult film, for adults, who can distinguish between right and wrong. Are you telling me that Mr Bachchan is someone who taught people to be a thief? You know you're going to watch a movie right, it's fiction right?"

Then, to explain further, he drew comparison with Shah Rukh Khan's character in Baazigar andd Sanju's character.

"No one brought up Baazigar, when SRK kills Shilpa Shetty. No one said anything about putting a commode seat on Sonam Kapoor's neck in Sanju. Sab Kabir Singh ke peeche kyun pade hain?"

Well it looks like Shahid has missed the entire arguement that has been put out against the film. Well, to answer his question, Baazigar was a revenge drama and not a love story and Shah Rukh Khan's character was an anti-hero, unlike Kabir Singh. And in Sanju, the character was under the influence of drugs and had to go to a rehab later!

What are your thoughts about it?
