Shahid Kapoor Regrets Rejecting This Iconic Film And We Agree With Him

Shahid Kapoor has been diligently promoting his upcoming release Arjun Reddy which is going to hit the screens on 21^st June. In one of these on-going promotional interviews, Shahid talked about his decisions and revealed which is the one film he regrets rejecting.

According to Shahid, he regrets rejecting Rakeysh Omprakash Mehra’s iconic film Rang De Basanti. Not many people know that Shahid was initially offered the role of Karan Singhania in the film. After his rejection, the role went to Tamil actor Siddharth, who of course, did a splendid job with the role. Maybe, at that time Shahid did not want to play second fiddle to Aamir Khan. 

Rang De Basanti later not only went on to do phenomenally well at the box-office but has actually become a cult classic among movie lovers. Thus we can totally understand why Shahid would regret passing up this opportunity.

However, the good news is Shahid might collaborate with Rang De Basanti director Rakeysh Omprakash Mehra soon. In a recent interview given to a leading daily, Mehra said, “Shahid and I really want to do a film together. He’s such a fabulous actor and someone I feel I would have so much fun working with. With him, it’s like finding a DNA match. Conversations are on and I think we will be able to reach a common point if things work out.”

Interestingly, Madhavan’s role was initially offered to Shah Rukh Khan who turned it down. If all of them would have accepted the film then it would have been quite something to see Aamir, Shah Rukh and Shahid on screen together.
