Shahid Kapoor To Soon Debut On OTT, Signs Rs.100 Crore Deal With Netflix?

This year seems to be particularly bright for those who are always stuck to the web. Many celebs made their OTT debuts this year and in the times when theatres are closed, the OTTs have given filmmakers a way to release their films. With the web booming, more A-listers are taking an interest to make their way into the emerging platform. Now, we are getting to hear that Shahid is set to make his web debut. He seems to have signed an Rs. 100 crore deal with OTT giant, Netflix.

According to a report in Pinkvilla, Shahid Kapoor would be headlining multiple projects on Netflix. A source was quoted saying, "He has signed a huge deal to the tune of Rs 100 crore with the digital streaming platform. Shahid will not only make his digital debut with a Netflix film or series but will also be toplining different projects. One of them happens to be a concept-driven fiction series, details of which are under wraps as of now. He has already signed on the dotted line for the same."

There is some interesting lineup for the actor for OTT. The same source added, "It will be a mix of films and shows that he has committed to. If the Soorarai Pottru remake happens (for which maker Gunnet Monga had apparently approached Shahid), it will be only for web; that's the plan as of now. Apart from that, Shahid is also doing another action thriller to be directed by Aditya Nimbalkar. That also might be an OTT film. Although the projects have not been completely locked, Shahid has signed the overall deal and committed to working with Netflix on several projects in the near future."

This has already piqued our interest! Apart from Shahid, Hrithik Roshan seems to be interested to make his presence felt on the web. There has been no official confirmation of the same.
