Shahid Kapoor’s Karna To Go On Floors In 2022; Actor Will Undergo Physical Transformation

Shahid Kapoor, who was last seen in Sandeep Reddy Vanga’s Kabir Singh, is currently busy gearing up for his digital debut. The web show is being helmed by filmmaker duo Raj Nidimoru and Krishna D.K., fondly referred to as Raj & DK. Well, latest reports suggest that the actor has now signed his next film with Rakeysh Omprakash Mehra, who has super hit films like Rang De Basanti and Bhaag Milkha Bhaag to his credit. The project is an adaptation of Mahabharata which will be told from the perspective of Karna.

In a report shared by Pinkvilla, a source was quoted saying, “Shahid has liked the script and is looking forward to playing Karna on screen. It will be a mythological drama, and will roll in early 2022. For now, the makers are planning for a 2023 release. Rakeysh, Ronnie (Screwvala, producer) and Shahid have envisioned to shoot the film on a large scale, and a lot of prep will go in before they start shooting for the film next year. Besides the other prep, Shahid will also undergo a physical transformation to look the part.”

Reports about this project began doing the rounds in January. But now that things are starting to fall in place, we just can’t keep calm anymore! It will be quite exciting to see Shahid shine on the big screen as Karna, the spiritual son of Surya and Duryodhana’s friend. Other than this project, Shahid’s fans are also looking forward to his upcoming sports drama Jersey.
