Shashi Kapoor, Sharmila Tagore Starrer New Delhi Times To Get A Sequel, Confirms Writer Khalid Mohammad

Sequels are the order of the day. However, this time it is different as a filmmaker is planning a sequel to his own film. We are more excited about this sequel owing to the fact that the film in question is perhaps one of the most critically acclaimed of its time which had a stellar cast.

It is a political thriller film which was originally written by Gulzar. It sheds light on the life of an editor who exposes the corruption nexus between the media and politics. 

Well, we are talking about the 1986 film New Delhi times. The film starred Shashi Kapoor, Sharmila Tagore, Om Puri and Kulbhushan Kharbanda. The film displayed the nexus between politics and the media.

The film was directed by Ramesh Sharma and was written by acclaimed writer Khalid Mohammad.

Recently, Khalid Mohammad took to his official Twitter handle to announce the news. He wrote, “My friend Ramesh Sharma will direct sequel to New Delhi Times on nexus between media and politics. And I’m writing the script. Lead cast being finalised,"
