Actress and vlogger Shenaz Treasury took a trip down memory lane and revisited her debut film Ishq Vishk which also marked the debut of Shahid Kapoor and Amrtita Rao in Bollywood. The former VJ did manage to strike a chord with her role in the Ken Ghosh film for which she is still widely remembered and reveals how she bagged the role after having a run-in with the filmmaker at a club.

Shenaz who today is a popular influencer and travel blogger while talking about Ishq Vishk with Indian Express recalled her first day of shoot and revealed how she was more hungry than nervous. While facing the camera wasn’t a big deal for her having been a VJ on MTV, she reveals how Ken Ghosh told her she had to lose weight and denied her food on her very first day of shoot. “First day on set was at Sophia College and we were shooting the song “Kaun Hai Woh”. I remember Ken put a lot of stress on me. He liked me as an actor but he thought I was too fat, which is true. And so he kept telling me I need to lose five kilos as other actress in the movie were so thin and we would look awkward together. I was trying to lose weight. That day on set, he said no food for me (laughs). They decided to do a slow motion scene with me lip syncing but no one instructed me how that is to be done. I remember doing that with a blow in my hair but not knowing how to do that slow motion. It was hot because it was the middle of summer and I was wearing a red dress. I just remember being really hungry.” Shenaz told the publication.

Shenaz further spoke about her rapport with co-stars Shahid Kapoor and Amrita Rao and admitted that while managed to strike a chord with the actor she didn’t hit it off with the actress.  Talking about one piece of advice she got from Shahid she revealed, “He used to tell me that I got to be something more than a VJ. I guess I wasn’t that serious about it. I had this regular job at MTV which I really enjoyed and I didn’t want to leave that for Bollywood. I had a good equation with Shahid. I had been on camera, he hadn’t. He was completely fresh. I guess when we went to Cape Town, that was the first time he was on a plane. It was fun. We really got along. Amrita and I didn’t really hit it off. That’s the truth.”

Shenaz has only gone on to do a handful of more films in Bollywood over the years and focused her attention on her vlogs more than her acting career.
