Sherlyn Chopra Seeks A Public Apology From Sajid Khan After Sexual Harassment Allegations, Doesn't Want To Go To Court

Filmmaker and producer Sajid Khan was recently back in the news after Jiah Khan’s sister in a BBC documentary accused him to sexually harassing her late sister while she was working on a film with him. After a clip from the documentary went viral actress Sherlyn Chopra too stepped forward and alleged that the filmmaker flashed his private parts in front of her days after her father’s demise.

This is not the first time the filmmaker has been accused of sexual misconduct by women he’s worked with. Sajid’s name came up multiple times when the Me Too movement was at its peak in Bollywood a few years ago. Sherlyn’s recent post about the filmmaker spread like wildfire and now in a recent interview, she’s stated that she will just make do with a public apology from Sajid saying she’s not keen on initiating a legal procedure.

“What I am going to achieve by doing that (legal action)? I just want him to issue a public apology not just to me but to all those women with whom he has tried to indulge in inappropriate acts. He has been a habitual offender where he asks women to come to his home for discussion about work and then he gets into his shameless acts," the actress told IANS in an interview.

Talking about the incident which dates back over 15 years now Sherlyn recalled, "In April 2005, I lost my father and after a few days, I went to Sajid Khan's place to discuss a film role. I wanted to keep myself busy with work so that I could forget the pain of losing a parent. When I went to meet him, he randomly asked me to touch his private parts."

The Dil Bole Hadippa actress said that she was terrified and after refusing him she left his home. She also added that she spent a while blaming herself for the incident thinking she shouldn’t have gone to his house and called meeting the filmmaker ‘one of the unfortunate events of my life’.

Explaining why she now decided to open up Sherlyn said that she doen’t want another woman to go through this and felt it was her responsibility to show Sajid’s ‘true side’ to people.

The actress also pointed a finger at the top celebrities in Bollywood and said that despite knowing of Sajid’s behavior they supported him by working with him and on social media harp about mental health.

Sherlyn who has been a part adult content also said that her work doesn’t give people the license to judge her. "People tell me I am an adult content creator, so I should be okay with these things. I want to tell those stupid people that if a woman is an adult content creator or a prostitute, actor, married or unmarried or from any other walk of life, her opinion matters the most in such things, otherwise you have no right to go ahead with it. I want to tell such people to grow up and change their mindset when you deal with women," she said in conclusion.
