Shibani Dandekar Says Media Trial Affecting Rhea Chakraborty’s Family: 'If They Kill Themselves, That Is Abetment To Suicide'

Rhea Chakraborty has come out and already told her side of the story after facing investigations from multiple agencies and being accused for the unfortunate demise of Sushant Singh Rajput by the actor’s family. The actress is slowly garnering support after she spoke about the impact the media trial is having on her family.

The actress’s friend of 12 years, Shibani Dandekar yesterday penned a post showing support to Rhea’s fight for her family and justice and condemned the media trial against her. She has defended her friend in an interview with India Today and said that Rhea was only taking care of Sushant and protecting his privacy as he battled mental health issues.

Rhea Chakraborthy has been accused of administering drugs to the late actor, swindling money from him and keeping him away from his family. Shibani defends Rhea and her family on accounts and says that Rhea was deeply in love with the late actor and intended to spend the rest of her life with him.

Talking about the media trial in the case the former VJ told India Today, “You have already crucified this poor girl and her family. You have tortured them to breaking point. This is a mother. Rhea’s mother has suffered such anxiety. She's on medication. Again, we're talking about mental health issues that we have caused this entire family. Because if they were to kill themselves, what the media has done, that is abetment to suicide. That is actually abetment to suicide.”

Shibani admitted that she had met Sushant a couple of times and knew about Rhea’s incident with his sister Priyanka and that the actor was unwell. She added that Rhea put her life on hold to take care of Sushant and when he died, Shibani says she visited the Jalebi actress at her home describing that she was devasted and could never have imagined this would have happened.

Shibani also spoke about Sushant’s family’s accusation that she tried to separate the deceased actor from his loved ones. “Whatever woman comes into your life, you'll always accuse them of horrible things. Why? Why is it that she tried to take over? Why is it that her family tried to take over? Was there not enough room for Sushant to also be a part of Rhea’s family? Why is it not okay for them to love him? Why does it have to be one or the other? They loved him. He was a fantastic guy. He loved their family, Rhea’s family,” she said.

Shibani appealed everyone not to speculate and let the investigating agencies do their job.
