Shikha Talsania is rising in the ranks in Bollywood one film at a time. The Veere Di Wedding actress who navigated her way to success after debuting in the Ranbir Kapoor starrer slice of life film Wake Up Sid has faced her own challenges in films despite having parents who work in the same industry.

Shikha has been hailed time and again for her confidence as an actor, but despite her positive attitude, the actress confessed that she early on in her career asked to lose weight to get to bag a role. In an interview with Times of India Shikha says, “There have been times where I’ve been told that if I don't lose weight, I wouldn’t get the part. If I'm not the conventional cookie-cutter version of what people think actors should be, I'm not going to get this part.”

Having said that the actress is glad that things are different today as far as mentality and outlook are concerned. Commenting on societal notions of the perfect heroine, Shikha simply said, “F*** society. I really couldn't care less. I'm trying to do what I do. I am trying to live the way I want to. And I'm trying to love and nourish and protect me and mine.”

The Collie No. 1 actress admitted she still has days where she feels everything is wrong in life because of the way she looks but added, “I no longer have the time to think about it or deal with this. I am here to have a good time. And I love every inch of my body.”
