    Bollywood’s troubles owing to the Covid-19 pandemic seem to continue as cinema halls across the country were once again shut down due to the deadly second wave. Filmmakers who were lining up their films for theatrical releases till March are once again looking at OTT platforms to release their films.

    News is that Shilpa Shetty, Paresh Rawal, Meezaan Jaffrey, and Pranitha Subhash starrer comedy, Hunagma 2, is ready to go digital after missing its August 2020 deadline for a theatrical release. The movie which is a sequel to the 2003 Priyadarshan comedy is reportedly ready to close a deal with Disney+ Hotstar for a direct release on the platform according to Bollywood Hungama.

    The news comes after reports hinted at Saif Ali Khan, Arjun Kapoor, Yami Gautam and Jacqueline Fernandez starrer Bhoot Police planning to skip the theatrical queues in favour of an OTT release on the same platform. Both films were shot last year during the pandemic.

    The portal suggests that an announcement might soon be underway from Hungama 2 makers as soon as they have inked the deal. The film was earlier slated to release on 14 August 2020 but was pushed indefinitely.

    Recently, Salman Khan & Arjun Kapoor also made their digital debuts as their films Radhe Your Most Wanted Bhai & Sardar Ka Grandson respectively released online.
