Shilpa Shetty on Hungama 2 song Chura Ke Dil Mera: ‘It was a challenge recreating it after 25 years’

The much awaited trailer of Hungama 2 released a few days ago and it was everything that fans had expected-- a comedy full of surprises, misunderstandings and hilarious twists! The film, which stars Paresh Rawal, Shilpa Shetty, Meezaan Jaffery and Pranitha Subhash in the lead, marks filmmaker Priyadarshan’s comeback to Bollywood after 8 long years. Well, one of the biggest highlights of the trailer, that left us super excited, was a glimpse of the recreated version of Chura Ke Dil Mera, which originally featured Shilpa and Akshay Kumar.

Much to our delight, the team has now revealed that the teaser of Chura Ke Dil Mera 2.0 will be out on 5^th July, Monday. Buzz also suggests that the song itself might release a day later. Talking about recreating the chartbuster in a chat with Pinkvilla, Shilpa was quoted saying, “Chura Ke Dil Mera has been a milestone in my career. This song has always been special. Now CKDM 2.0 is finally coming out as part of this epic franchise comedy, I am nothing but thrilled. It was fun and a challenge recreating it after 25 years since the benchmark is so high. Hope the audience loves it as much as I did dance to the new version.”

According to the trailer, Shilpa is Paresh’s on-screen wife and he is sure that she is having an affair with Meezaan. The romantic comedy is slated for a direct digital release on streaming giant Disney+ Hotstar on 23^rd July. Are you looking forward to this crazy, yet hilarious mad ride?
