Shilpa Shetty signs on to play the lead in an intense female centric drama after back to back comedies

Shilpa Shetty is on a film signing spree ever since she decided to end her 13 years long break from Bollywood and signed two comedies to make her comeback with. The actress has reportedly now signed on to lead a women centric drama in producer Vikram Malhotra’s next.

The actress who will be seen next in Abhimanyu Dasani starrer Nikama and Meezan Jaffery starrer Hungama 2 next has apparently loved the project Vikram approached her with and given her assent for the role according to a Peeping Moon report.

She will be seen essaying a headstrong character in an intense drama which will reportedly be directed Sonal Joshi who has assisted on films like Jab Harry Met Sejal and Dhoom 3. The project which is yet to receive a title will also have an ensemble cast supporting Shilpa.

The report further claims that the role is interesting and something in line with the kind of roles Shilpa had hoped to do making her comeback in Bollywood.

As for her other two films, while Nikama is still to get a new release date owing to the pandemic situation, Humgama 2 is headed for a digital release and will premiere on Disney+ Hotstar.
