Diwali has been a hot favorite of filmmakers with big releases. However, despite the most anticipated films releasing on the festival it always can’t guarantee a hit especially when two big films are clashing. One such Diwali was Shah Rukh Khan’s Don clashing with Salman Khan and Akshay Kumar’s Jaan-e-Mann.

As the two films completed 14 years since their release Shirish Kunder who made his debut as a director with Jaan-e-Mann penned a note and reminisced how it was only 10 years after the film’s release that people started appreciating his film. It experimented with the musical format tried something new in the romance genre but didn’t manage to excite the audiences.

Jaan-e-Mann flopped big time at the box office back in 2006 while Don raced ahead and became a super-hit. In his tweet Shirish writes, “#14YearsOfJaanEMann - my first film as a Director. Heavily criticised when released. Started getting some love after ten years when La La Land released. Hoping history will be kinder.”

Replying to Shrish’s tweet, Farah Khan replied, ‘My most favourite film with some of my best songs.’

The film was a love triangle featuring Preity Zinta, Salman Khan and Akshay Kumar. While the film failed to work the music of the film was big rage.
